Game of the Year!?

2011 is nearly over, Xmas is just 2 days away and the release calendar for the next couple weeks looks damn empty. I have chosen my favorite games of the year and want to share my opinion with you:

#1 Assassin's Creed Revelations
Yep, that's my personal winner! What makes it so special for me? Well, Assassin's Creed II was the game that made me start doing Video Guides. That's why the Assassin's Creed franchise means so much to me.

#2 L.A. Noire
A game that surprised me from start to finish. Team Bondi & Rockstar Games revolutionized the landscape of gaming animations by using the new technology called "MotionScan". Facial animations have never been so realistic and it's fun to see some real actors in the game. For me it's the most interesting game in 2011 and a big step towards future!

#3 Uncharted 3
The third place goes to Uncharted 3. I've been following the Uncharted franchise since the very beginning and love the cinematic type of gameplay. The story is more interesting than most movies and you really want to keep playing to find out what happens next.

Modern Warfare 3 Videos finished!

I recently finished the Video Guides and Spec Ops Walkthroughs for Modern Warfare 3. You can now see an updated list of upcoming video guide projects below. The list might be expanded during the next weeks. I actually wanted to make some Saints Row: The Third Videos as well, but there wasn't anything that required a video guide.

Assassin's Creed Revelations on Saturday

I will receive my copy of Assassin's Creed Revelations on Saturday. I'll try my best to provide the first couple video guides at the same day. Videos for the Collectibles should be online somewhen next week.
The Video Guides for Modern Warfare 3 (including all 46 intels, story-related & miscellaneous stuff) have been uploaded. I'm still working on Walkthroughs for the Spec Ops Missions. The majority has been captured already and I'll upload the most until the end of friday.

Modern Warfare 3 Videos on Tuesday

The Video Guides for Modern Warfare 3 (including all 46 intels, story-related & miscellaneous stuff) are done already. However, I will have to wait until tuesday before publishing them. Infinity Ward shuts down Youtube Channels that release such content earlier. The majority of videos will be uploaded in short invervals on tuesday, starting with the intel one. Videos for Spec Ops will be added until friday. The first Assassin's Creed Revelations Videos will also come on friday.

Battlefield 3 Guide Finished

I already finished the Battlefield 3 Videos today. Videos for the Single Player Campaign and Co-Op Mode have been added. The Guide consists a total of 15 Videos. I will start with the Uncharted 3 Videos TODAY! So watch out for updates over on Youtube, Facebook and Twitter. The Guide Page will be added during the next couple days.

Dead Rising 2: Off The Record Guide Completion: 75%

I was pretty fast with Dead Rising 2: Off The Record.
The Videos for all of the 75 Stickers has already been finished on October, 14 (the actual European Release). There aren't many things left to do. During the next days I'll be focusing on the new Batman: Arkham City.

Gears of War 3 Guide Finished

For the first time ever PowerPyx is doing Achievement Video Guides.
Some of you are wondering why. Well, I just wanted to try something new. I bought my X360 together with Gears of War 3 because I never owned this console before and wanted to see how it is. You want to know how it is? The answer: There is no big difference between the consoles. You own a console to play the games, don't you? And the games, trophies, achievements etc. are always the same on both consoles.

Anyways, I still (and always will) prefer the PS3 and will keep capturing my Videos on it. Since I own both consoles I am able to provide some visual aid for Xbox 360 exclusive titles in the future.

God of War: Chains of Olympus Guide Finished

God of War: Chains of Olympus was originally released back in 2008, for PSP only. A couple days ago, it came out as a remake for PS3. Sony did a very good job on this one. Full HD, 3D-Support, better Sound etc. make it an awesome game for less than $20. The Platinum trophy is easy and the game doesn't take that long, but it's simply fun to see Kratos on PS3 again.

Resistance 3 Guide Finished

With a total of 18 Videos the Resistance 3 Guide has been finished.
Resistance 3 is a great game for Trophy Hunters. It will keep you entertained for a while and the trophies have medium difficulty. It has been my first Game of the Resistance series and it is worth the money. There have been so many awesome games during the last days and many people are not sure which ones to buy. If you are not sure about Resistance 3 you should at least rent it. Playing it is fun but it's relatively short - like most shooters are.

Dead Island Guide Finished

Are you wondering why the Video Counter on the Guide Overview says 7+64 Videos? Yep, it's because I did a complete Walkthrough for this Game. So it's a total of 7 Video Guides and 64 Videos of the full Single Player Walkthrough. It was my first time capturing such a Walkthrough and especially the rendering & upload process took quiete a while. Dead Island is a very fascinating game that offers good replay value and lots of hours of fun - especially when playing together with friends. On Single Player it's kinda hard since you will end up rushing through the areas to avoid the strong Zombies towards the end of the game. Unfortunately, Platinum is impossible right now due to a bug. For those of you who are wondering why there is no Video for the 120 Collectibles: A video is really not needed! You can collect the same Collectible 120 times. They will hand over to all of your other savegames. So don't worry, you will most likely get it by accident while playing through the game twice.

On Vacation

Deus Ex: Human Revolution Completion: 75%

Dead Island & Resistance 3 are just one more day away and I am coming to an end with the Deus Ex: Human Revolution Videos. The XP Book Guide has recently been added, as well as the bossfight walkthroughs. I actually wanted to make a complete Single Player Walkthrough, but due to the extreme shipment delay I run out of time. I am sorry for that, but will try to make some Walkthroughs for other upcoming Games.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution Completion: 10%

Finally, I got my English version of Deus Ex: Human Revolution. I started with the videos right away. At the moment there is a total of 4 videos. I am currently focusing on the 29 XP Books. The full Video Guide should follow within the next 2 days.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution Delayed

The Deus Ex: Human Revolution Guide has been delayed due to serious shipment problems. Unfortunately, this game is not multilingual and I had to order the UK version to play it in English. I have never experienced such extreme waiting times and limited possibilities to get the game somewhere else. I'm sorry for letting you wait so long. The videos will follow rapidly after I get my copy (probably Tuesday or Wednesday). I will do a complete Walkthrough on hard difficulty, without alarms and without killing anyone.

F.E.A.R. 3 Guide Completion: 60%

5 Videos have been added so far. In fact, there are not many things that require a visual aid. I am focusing on the Alma Dolls (Collectibles) right now. The fact that they can spawn at different locations makes it very tricky to do not miss one. I guess I pretty much got all of them after playing through the story 30 times. The full video guide will be added during the next 2 days.

inFAMOUS 2 Guide Finished

The inFAMOUS 2 Guide has actually been finished 4 days ago, on June 16.
The last Video was a Collectible Guide for the Dead Drops. ONUOsFan from ps3trophies.com provided detailed maps that can be used in addition to the video.
inFAMOUS 2 turned out to be a fantastic game with a relatively easy platinum trophy and a lot of replay value. It's a lot better and more player friendly than the original inFAMOUS. If you have a PS3, you should give this game a try.

inFAMOUS 2 Guide Completion: 75%

I am nearly finished with the inFAMOUS 2 Video Guides. During the last 2 days, lots of things have been added. There is a very useful glitch that allows you to boost up your XP quick and easy. A side effect is the bad karma you gain. So if you are on your evil playthrough keep this glitch in mind.
At the moment I am focusing on the Dead Drops. This one is by far the most time consuming one. Video Guides for the blast shards are really not necessary. There is a power that allows you to see the Blast Shard next to you on the map - no matter how far it is away. Makes it easy to get the gold trophy.

Duke Nukem Forever Guide Finished

After 13 long years Duke finally found his way onto our consoles. I uploaded the last video yesterday - on the offical US Release Date. The Guide Page is completely online. I might make an improvement here and there later on.

inFAMOUS 2 Guide Completion: 10%

I added the first inFAMOUS 2 video Guide a couple moments ago.
I got Duke Nukem Forever a bit earlier and inFAMOUS 2 a bit later. I do both Guides at the same time. At the moment I am focusing on inFAMOUS 2. Most videos should be done until tomorrow.

Duke Nukem Forever Guide Completion: 60%

A total of 7 videos has already been added to the Duke Nukem Forever Guide.
I will probably do one more for a Story-Related Trophy, followed by some videos for the remaining Collectibles.

Some of you are wondering why I am already having this game. Well, the european release date was the 10th of june and I got my copy one day earlier. On the other hand site I had to wait 5 extra days for my inFAMOUS 2.

For those of you who are still waiting for the game: I suggest to watch the guides for the story-related things. They are easy to miss and it will save you quite some time when you don't need to replay a whole chapter.

L.A. Noire Guide Finished

The L.A. Noire Video Guides are completely online now.
Detailed Guides for all types of Collectibles have been added. They are supplemented by high resolution maps, timelines in the video descriptions and overview menus at the end of each video.

I am having my copy of L.A. Noire for 6 days now.
The videos have nearly been finished. Detailed Collectible Guides with numbered maps and diverse videos for story-related and miscellaneous Trophies / Achievements have been added during the last couple days. Timelines have been added to the video descriptions of all collectible guides. This should make it easier to navigate through long videos.
I am now focusing on a Guide for all vehicles.

L.A. Noire Guide Completion: 20%

It's been the second day that I am having my copy of L.A. Noire.
On Day 1 a total of 4 videos has been added. During the last 24 hours I published 3 new videos, including story-related & miscellaneous Trophies / Achievements.
In the upcoming 24 hours I will finish the story and upload videos for 3 story-related trophies that are easy to miss and a video guide for all gold film canisters.
Little overview menus will be added at the end of all upcoming L.A. Noire Video Guides.

L.A. Noire Guide Completion: 10%

I received my Copy of L.A. Noire a couple hours ago and added videos for the basic story-related and miscellaneous trophies / achievements.
All Videos have been added to the Guide and can be downloaded with high speed and in different formats.
During the rest of the weekend I will try to beat the story and add videos for the collectibles.

New Site Structure & New Features:

1.) The Blog has been added to the navigation bar. You can easily comment on each of my posts without an annoying registration. From time to time you can also find Polls on the blog. I want you people to decide about future projects and changes. It's meant to be a place where you can tell me and other users your thoughts. All Updates & News are archived from now on.

2.) A Contact Button has been added as well. Just like the name says: It shows you how to contact me easily.

3.) The Design of the 'Guides' Section has been improved. All Game Titles are structured in a table, with their associated logo and number of videos.

4.) Improved 'About' Section: FAQ added, information updated, design improved.

5.) Some typos in older Guides have been fixed.

6.) Filze size of Graphics has been reduced and the site loads a little bit faster.
