First Vita Trophy Video Guides online!

Today I added the first part of my Uncharted: Golden Abyss Collectible Video Guide. It's a lot harder to capture PS Vita Gameplay in acceptable quality than capturing PS3 gameplay. Since Vita does not support video output I have to film everything with a camera. Don't worry, just take a look below and you will see that the quality is not too bad:

The fact, that vita is a handheld console, based on touchscreen gameplay makes the process of video capturing a lot more time consuming and it took quite some while to make the perfect setup. You will notice that the screen is not shaky a single bit and unlike other videos I show you full screen HD gameplay footage. The sound is the best possible for vita gameplay, you won't hear any background noise, such as clicking buttons etc.

In the videos I will play everything without the touchscreen if it's possible (at some point I have to make use of it). No, you don't see ghosts on your screen, that's my fingers. Hopefully, Sony will release some sort of AV cable soon. That would make it a lot easier! I will stick with my PS3 for the most part and just do some vita guides for really big titles from time to time.

The Darkness 2 Videos finished!

I finished my video guides for The Darkness 2 a couple days ago. The collectible guide is using a new feature to make everything more interactive. When another potential trophy or achievement is nearby, a red popup box appears in the top right corner of the screen. Simply click the box and you will be brought to one of my other video guides. Don't worry, the collectible video stops automatically and the other video is opened in a new tab of your browser. Later on, you can easily return to the collectibles and keep watching from where you left.
You will never miss a trophy / achievement again!

New Website Banner and Navigation Bar

I recently updated the design of powerpyx.com a little bit and fixed some bugs in its coding.
The site got a new banner and navigation bar, giving it a fresh look.

If you are one of my faithful subscribers on Youtube you might have seen that I didn't release any videos for about 2 months. Reason is the lack of game releases during this time. Don't worry, new guides will come next week (Final Fantasy XIII-2).

I'm looking forward to an interesting and entertaining 2012 with you guys. Thanks for all the great support you gave me over the last years. I'll work even harder this year and try to release guides for a lot more games.

Game of the Year!?

2011 is nearly over, Xmas is just 2 days away and the release calendar for the next couple weeks looks damn empty. I have chosen my favorite games of the year and want to share my opinion with you:

#1 Assassin's Creed Revelations
Yep, that's my personal winner! What makes it so special for me? Well, Assassin's Creed II was the game that made me start doing Video Guides. That's why the Assassin's Creed franchise means so much to me.

#2 L.A. Noire
A game that surprised me from start to finish. Team Bondi & Rockstar Games revolutionized the landscape of gaming animations by using the new technology called "MotionScan". Facial animations have never been so realistic and it's fun to see some real actors in the game. For me it's the most interesting game in 2011 and a big step towards future!

#3 Uncharted 3
The third place goes to Uncharted 3. I've been following the Uncharted franchise since the very beginning and love the cinematic type of gameplay. The story is more interesting than most movies and you really want to keep playing to find out what happens next.

Make sure to join my Facebook and tell me about your personal game of the year. Happy Holidays and good (trophy & achievement) hunting!

Modern Warfare 3 Videos finished!

I recently finished the Video Guides and Spec Ops Walkthroughs for Modern Warfare 3. You can now see an updated list of upcoming video guide projects below. The list might be expanded during the next weeks. I actually wanted to make some Saints Row: The Third Videos as well, but there wasn't anything that required a video guide.
I hope you enjoy the great games of November as much as I do!
